Massac County’s Lady Patriots softball team has picked up right where they left off last year with an unblemished record through three games.

The girls started off with a somewhat shaky 8-3 win over a usually tough Crab Orchard team. Then hit full stride with a 10-0 win over Eldorado and a 12-2 win over Carbondale.

In the Crab Orchard win, Brittany McFall overcame some wildness and got the win.

Jessie Douglas and Gracyn McBride each cracked home runs in support of McFall.

Against Eldorado, McFall tossed a masterful one hitter, and McBride provided all the support she would need with a two-run homer.

At Carbondale Friday, the ladies led 10-2 in the top of the fifth before Douglas cranked her second “dinger” of the year, providing the final 10-run margin for McFall as she shut down the Lady Terriers in the fifth for the “10-run rule” win.

Jessie Lamb went 3 for 4 with three stolen bases.

Josie Garduno knocked in a pair of runs with a 2 for 4 day.
