Mrs. Simpson was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one sister, Verla Joann Fowler of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Kenneth and Beulah Gertrude Barger Kirk; her husband, Billy Joe Simpson; one sister, Sylvia Kirk; and two brothers, James O. Kirk and Lester Kirk.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Bobby Parker officiating.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
