Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Gary Motta officiating.
Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Yates was a member of Metropolis First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Gary Yates and wife Linda of Lake in the Hills; four grandchildren, Tim Yates of Lake in the Hills, Michael Yates of Chicago, Jeremy Yates and wife Amy of Sycamore and Nicole Yates and companion Eric Klausen; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis Yates of Lake in the Hills, Jacob Yates and Owen David Yates, both of Sycamore, and Cassidy, Kendell, Kala and Camryan Klausen, all of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ike and Nora Windhorst Cook; her husband, Herbert Yates; one son, David Yates; two sisters; and four brothers.
Visitation will be held from noon until the funeral hour Saturday at the funeral home.
