It seems that the idea caught on and will come to fruition this week. Massac began play Tuesday with a pair of scheduled five inning games against Crab Orchard and Harrisburg.
While firm plans for just how things will go aren’t in place yet, the plan for now is to play a couple of shortened games against either a pair of different schools or a pair against the same school with the teams split and matched up on the basis of age and relative ability.
The wooden bats will serve as the equalizer.
