Ashton McDuffee has been named for the 2013 edition of “The Best Players in USSSA Baseball.”
McDuffee is the 15-year-old son of Michael McDuffee and Cassie Graves, both of Metropolis.
A sophomore at Massac County High School, he is a member of the MCHS junior varsity Patriots baseball team.
He is also the pitcher and first baseman for the Kentucky Reign baseball team, with which he has a .600 batting average.
USSSA stands for United States Speciality Sports Association.
The focus of the 2013 edition of “The Best Players in USSSA Baseball” are the players of USSSA baseball who play in the major division.
The most competitive players in USSSA baseball are those who have been selected at the local level to play in the major division. Those players are generally considered to be the best youth baseball players in the United States.
The 2013 edition has been created to recognize and honor those elite level athletes.
This is McDuffee’s second time to receive the honor.
