Meridian battled back from a couple of seven point deficits to take a 65-55 win over the Pharaohs at Shawnee College Saturday night.
Egyptian lost all tournament guard Darmez Nelson in the third quarter when he fell hard on his hip, but the Pharaohs rallied without him and took the Bobcats right to the wire before succumbing.
Joppa fell victim to the Pharaohs in their first game of the tournament losing 80-42. The Rangers also lost a tough one to Cobden in overtime in second round action. The 59-57 overtime loss apparently took a heavy toll on Joppa, as they were rolled 92-59 by the Shawnee Redskins in their tournament finale.
