Monetary donations sought to aid students affected by tornado

Reaching For Kids and Youth of Massac County is currently collecting monetary donations for students who reside in the Brookport/Unionville region affected by the Nov. 17 tornado.

Jars are currently in placed at both locations of City National Bank and Metropolis Big John. Donations can also be dropped off or mailed to Reaching for Kids office at 401 Ferry St., Metropolis, IL 62960.

According to Doris Vogt, Reach For Kids director, over 100 students have been affected by the tornado from elementary to high school. Donations will be given to Debbie Christian, Brookport Elementary School principal, who will then purchase gift cards to buy needed items for the students.
