Born July 16, 1943 in Dawson Springs, Ky., Mrs. King graduated from Draughn’s Business College in Paducah with an associates degree and worked for Peoples Bank before becoming a legal secretary for several local attorneys.
She also worked as a secretary in the United States Probation Office and retired from the Federal Court System.
She was a Kentucky Colonel and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband of over 18 years, David King; her children, Eda Dawn Eberhardt of Mission Viejo, Calif. and Deanne Logsdon of Barlow, Ky.; her stepchildren, Kristin Elizabeth King Page of Wahiawa, Hawaii and David Edward King of Nashville, Tenn.; her siblings, Annette Tanner of Metropolis and Stan Metherd of Dawson Springs; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Audrey Riordan Metherd.
Memorial service was held Sunday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Joe Beal officiating.
