Norman Blomer, 81, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Pope County, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at home.

Norman was born on Aug. 10, 1932 in Pope County to Ben and Alice Green Blomer. He married Eula Mae Martin on March 28, 1952 in High Point, N.C. Eula died on March 30, 2005.

Norman retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Willow Springs in 1991 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha (Kenneth) Noble of Bourbonnais and Norma (David) Keltner of Park Forest; one son, Norman (Denise) Blomer Jr. of Tennessee; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Barb Cook of Metropolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home’s Bourbonnais Chapel. Burial followed at Kankakee Memorial Gardens n the Aroma Township.
