Ollie E. Alliston, 91, of Brookport, formerly of Vienna, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Born Nov. 11, 1920 in Marion, Mrs. Alliston was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Metropolis and had also attended Vienna First Christian Church.

She was a former member of Rebekah’s Lodge in Metropolis and had worked for Cherry’s Florist in Metropolis.

Survivors include one son, George Melvin Alliston and wife Judy of Alexandria, La.; one daughter, Anita Jo Henderson of Brookport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Freddie Anderson of Murray, Ky.; one stepsister, Frances Stewart; one daughter-in-law, Louise Alliston of Bardwell, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, George Lavern Alliston; her parents, Joseph Anderson and Minnie Wells Anderson Rogers; one son, Curtis Alliston; one son-in-law, Mike Henderson; and one granddaughter, Misty Smith.

A graveside service was held Saturday at Seven Mile Church Cemetery in Massac County.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Bailey Funeral Home of Vienna was in charge of arrangements.
