At the Nov. 26, Metropolis City Council meeting, the council unanimously adopted an ordinance that lowered the Purchase Power Agreement (PPA) — a move that will save customers 15 to 25 percent, money the council hopes will be regenerated into the community.

PPA, or Purchase Power Adjustment, is a fluctuating adjustment calculated each month in accordance with an ordinance passed by the city council and can only include the excess cost of purchased power.
