On the heels of a rather impressive opening win at West Frankfort in the inaugural Morthland College Heritage Invitational, where the boys took first place by a healthy 12 stroke margin over second place Marion, they showed that the margin of victory at West Frankfort was no fluke by blowing up the sixteen team field by 20 strokes at the Anna-Jonesboro McDonalds’ Invitational last Saturday.
At West Frankfort Country Club, in an 11-team field, the boys were led by Dalton Korte who fired a one under par round of 70 to take medalist honors.
Zach Burnham carded a 73 to take third. Drake Stepter and Jon Duley rounded out Massac’s card with scores of 78 and 80 respectively.
The win at Anna was very impressive, if not spectacular, with three players recording under par rounds.
