Before the season started, Patriot Coach Joe Hosman knew he would have a size advantage over quite a few of his teams’ opponents this year with 6’5” — give or take a fraction — post players Ethan Schulte and Austin Kendall. The big things would be getting the most out of the laid-back Schulte and waiting for Kendall to mature into a more dominant player in the paint.
Friday night’s game against a smallish and rebuilding Murphysboro team was a perfect example of what Hosman envisioned earlier.
