“It’s early December, not late January,” said Patriots coach Joe Hosman. “We gave ourselves a chance to win, and we didn’t lay down against a very, very good Graves County team. I was pleased with our effort.”

Massac County lost to Graves 75-65 Thursday in an abbreviated Hoopfest schedule.

Graves looked primed to blow the Pats out early on taking a 19-10 lead in the first quarter before Massac turned the tide and cut the lead to 22-18 at the first horn.

The second quarter wasn’t as productive for the Pats as the Eagles outscored Massac 19-12 in the second frame for an 11-point halftime cushion.
