Pearl Kraper Moller, 101, of Metropolis, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Born on Feb. 14, 1911, Mrs. Moller was a retired teacher. After receiving a teaching certificate from Southern Illinois Normal College, she began teaching in one-room schoolhouses in Massac and Pulaski counties. She taught at Central School in Metropolis for 24 years. In 1963, she graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in education.

Mrs. Moller was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Metropolis, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Philathea Women’s Circle.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Milloy of Bloomington, Minn. and Kay Moller Tillow and husband Walter of Lousiville, Ky.; and two grandchildren Gretchen Milloy of Minneapolis, Minn. and Derek Milloy of Burnaby, British Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Moller; her parents, Fred Kraper and Mattie Buddenbaum Kraper; three sisters, Opal Ward, Helen Lowan and Ferne Harris; one nephew, Harold Louis Ward; one son-in-law, Donald Milloy; and one granddaughter-in-law Darleen Milloy.

Funeral service was held Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Metropolis with Rev. Dan Whitfield officiating.

Burial followed at St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Metropolis. Pallbearers were Bill Carrell, Joel Jennings, David Park, Billy Wilke, David Wilke and Walter Eime.
