Pope County’s Lady Pirates ended Joppa High School girls basketball season in the Pope County Class A regional tournament held Feb. 11.

Pope’s superior size was just too much for the Lady Rangers to overcome as time and again Pope outmuscled Joppa under the boards for easy rebounds or putbacks.

Joppa fell behind by 10 points quickly in the first quarter but regrouped to trail by four at 14-10 with just over a minute left in the first quarter.
