This year’s recipient of the Metropolis Rotary Club’s Les Easterday Award is passionate for her cause to educate the public, and especially children, about the dangers of drugs.
Receiving the award this year at the Metropolis Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet and meeting, held Oct. 29, was Natalie Quint. In her honor, Metropolis Rotary Club will make a contribution to the charity of Quint’s choice, which no doubt will be the Massac County Drug Awareness Coalition (MCDAC).
Quint is founder and director of MCDAC, which was started in February 2012 and has taken major strides in the community.
Emily Farmer Loftus, representing the Metropolis Rotary Club, presented Quint the award at the chamber banquet and meeting.
“Through MCDAC, Natalie has been educating the schools on how to better deal with children that come from drug-ridden homes and the students in our area about the dangers of drugs,” read Loftus from a nomination letter.
