Rebuilding Together banquet scheduled for November 23

Tickets are available for the annual Rebuilding Together benefit banquet, set for Saturday, Nov. 23 at Harrah’s Event Center. The public is encouraged to attend.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for individuals to browse the silent auction. Dinner will be served by celebrity waiters and waitresses from throughout the area at 7 p.m.

According to Sandy Dailey, Metropolis Rebuilding Together president, many of the celebrity waiters are making repeat appearances, along with some new faces. Anyone wishing to be a waiter or waitress may contact Dailey at 524-5627.

The menu will include appetizers, marinated pork chop, baked potato, buttered corn, Caesar salad and roll, along with apple or cherry pie. A cash bar will be available.

Tables will be decorated, usually in a Christmas theme, and servers will be competing for tips and decorating prizes.

The silent auction will feature items from lunch packages to weekend getaways.

All auction items are donated by local businesses and the proceeds from the auction and dinner are used to buy material to make repairs on homes.

Tickets are $25 each.

Rebuilding Together Metropolis is a not-for-profit organization that rehabilitates the houses of elderly, low-income homeowners. To date, over 141 homes in Massac County have been rehabilitated thanks to the community’s generosity.
