Robert “Bob” Grace, 82, completed his much anticipated journey to heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013.

Formerly of Metropolis, Bob moved to Murray, Ky. in 1994 to be near his family. Known by many as “Boba,” he was a devoted family man. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. During his lifetime, he served in the U.S. Navy and was a 58-year member of Masons Lodge 91 of Metropolis. Bob was a long time member of Upper Salem Church in Metropolis, as well as Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Murray.

Bob is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley; a daughter, Velda Grace Miller of Murray; three grandsons, Jeremy Faughn and wife Stephanie of Charlotte N.C., Mark Faughn and wife Amy of Kirksey, Ky. and T.J. Miller of Murray; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Allen, Nathan, Erin and Lacy Faughn; two sisters, Billie Bentson and Willa Jacobs of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Floyd Vivan Grace; one brother, Genell Grace; and two sisters, Mary Lee Owens and Sue Buhrman.

A celebration of his life was held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Saturday.

Imes-Miller Funeral Home in Murray was in charge of arrangements.
