Mr. Parr worked for Edison Electric in Florissant, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Parr of Metropolis; one son, Thomas Parr and wife Linda of Cottage Grove, Tenn.; two daughters, Billie Joe Evans and husband Donald of Sugarland, Texas and Jonny Sedgwick and husband Keith of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren, Dr. Meredith Grady, Dustin Parr, Jordan Parr, Amber Sedgwick and John Sedgwick; one brother, Crait Parr and wife Mary Helen of Temple Hill; two sisters-in-law, Nadine Abell and Mary Horman Bremer, both of Metropolis; one brother-in-law, Bill Cagle and wife Mary Bette of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Greely and Alva Russell Parr; and three brothers, Olin, Merrill and Elzie Parr.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Jerry Parr officiating.
Music was provided by Karen Wemhoener.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Dustin Parr, Jordan Parr, John Sedgwick, Rick Parr, Mike Parr and Donnie Parr.
