The 59-46 loss to CCA was highlighted by a tough scoring night. The first quarter was especially difficult for the Rangers as they had just two points before Tyler Castleman dropped a trey in with 48 seconds left in the first stanza to cut the CCA lead to 10-5.
CCA was able to add to the lead for the remaining three periods and came out on top 59-46. Castleman led the Rangers with 22 points. Michael Sparks added 11 in the loss.
The Saturday night loss to Agape was made tougher by the fact that it was Homecoming for the Rangers.
The turning point in the last loss was a disastrous third quarter. Joppa trailed just 21-20 after one quarter and had taken a 43-40 halftime lead before the lid fell on the basket for the Rangers. The Rangers managed just six points in the period while Agape totaled 17 to erase the Joppa halftime lead.
Agape won the “racehorse” last quarter as well with a slim 32-31 margin as both teams abandoned any semblance of defense and scored at will. Castleman again led the Rangers with a big 42-point night. Sparks added 17. Chris Brown tossed in 16 in the loss.
