Ronald served on the Fort Massac Water District Board. He was retired from Electric Energy Inc. in Joppa after 22 years of service. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Masonic Lodge 498 out of Murphysboro, an avid hunter and a member of the Massac Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife of over 17 years, Becky Brust of Metropolis; one son, Mark Brust and wife Nancy of Evansville, Ind.; one granddaughter, Sydney Brust of Evansville; one stepson, Leslie Hall and wife Morgan of Paducah; one stepdaughter, Lorri Whitney and husband Travis of Blain, Minn.; three stepgrandchildren, Declan and Reese Whitney, both of Blain, and Mason Hall of Paducah; one brother, Ray Brust and wife Thelma of Paducah; and one sister, Wanda Throgmorton of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Augusta Dominic Brust; and two brothers, Lawrence Brust and Wilmer “Wimpy” Brust.
Masonic rites were conducted Sunday, and the funeral service was held Monday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. David Siere officiating.
Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro. Pallbearers were Elgie Rottmann, Hank Shepler, Steve Sloane, Darren Gray, Andy Todd and Jim Harris.
