Rosetta was born Nov. 26, 1921 in Harrisburg. She was a very talented lady, singing in church and for WEBQ radio in Harrisburg as a child.
Rosetta was also a gifted poem writer, writing over 300 poems for her family and friends. If mom knew you very long, you could expect a poem to be written about and for you.
Rosetta was a devoted homemaker and mother, doing an amazing job raising her family.
She attended Lighthouse Assembly of God in Metropolis.
In 1938, Rosetta married Marion Eugene “Cotton” Harrison and to this union were born five children. Rosetta is survived by her children, Charles Harrison and wife Melva of Greenville, Ky., Paul Harrison and wife Ginny of Clinton, Ind., David Harrison and wife Linda of Taylorville, Joyce Heflin and husband Don of Paducah and Steve Harrison and wife Sophfonda of Metropolis; 10 grandchildren, Amy Hobby, Samuel Harrison, Lisa Gilbert, Todd Harrison, Tim and Philip Harrison and Tom, Mike, Kevin and Joe Harrison; 17 great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Kadin, Alea, Susan, Tyler, Andrew, Madilyn, J.J., Ella, Max, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Tyler, Caleb, Jacob, Lakyn and Landon; and her great-great grandchild, Emma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Rachael Smith Stephenson; three sisters, Jenny, Lillian and Beulah; and two infant brothers.
Funeral service was held Monday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Charles Harrison and Rev. Paul Harrison officiating.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Tom Harrison, Mike Harrison, Kevin Harrison, Joe Harrison, Todd Harrison and Jimmy Hobby. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Harrison, Philip Harrison and Samuel Harrison.
