Next week Massac County’s courthouse security, ‘security on a shoestring,’ as Massac County Sheriff Ted Holder described it, will begin.

Holder told Commissioners Jeff Weber and Jerel Childers at Tuesday morning’s commissioners meeting, two people who have been hired to perform security duties will be coming in this week for Holder to begin training them.

Holder asked if the commissioners had discussed the side doors any further. Childers said he would talk to an electrician this week to find out what would have to be done to add an alarm to the doors if they are opened.

Holder and the commissioners were in agreement that the side doors would only be used as emergency exits only.
