First reports indicated there were four victims, but later in the day, Pope County Sheriff Jerry Suits confirmed there were three bodies removed from the fire.
As of press time, names were not being released publicly until the remains could be positively identified.
Suits said the cause of the fire is still unknown, but noted investigators are working at the site of the incident to determine what caused the fire.
Massac County Fire Protection District also aided firefighters from Pope County in fighting the fire.
