According to Massac County State's Attorney Patrick Windhorst, the sentencing for Gary Towler, former owner of Metropolis Memorial Gardens, that was originally scheduled for Monday, has been rescheduled.

Windhorst explained that last week Towler's lawyer asked the court again for more time to review documents.

As of press time, no new date for the sentencing had been set.

Towler has previously pleaded guilty on charges that as licensee of the cemetery, he failed to make appropriate deposits in the pre-need cemetery trust fund, failed to maintain adequate records as required and failed to file an annual audit.
