Troy Allen Bonnell, 76, of Brookport, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at his home.

Born Jan. 6, 1938 in Rosiclare to Sidney and Bessie Bonnell, Mr. Bonnell was raised by grandparents, Emma and Dan Bonnell, and stepparents, Ruth and Leon Elam. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired carpenter and member of Carpenters Union 357 of Paducah.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Bonnell of Brookport; one son, Troy Bonnell Jr. of Momence; four daughters, Jennifer Freeman of Metropolis, Tyra Angles and husband Joshua of Killen, Ala. and Judith Carlson-Fairfield and fiancé Marvin Fairfield and Orena Ball and husband Robert, all of Brookport; three brothers, Sidney Bonnell Jr., Robert Bonnell and Charles Bonnell; 10 grandchildren, Johnny Atkinson, Grace Brown, Cody Carlson, Cory Carlson, Emily Parmer-Ball, Hannah Parmer-Ball, Calea Angles, Halea Angles, Balea Angles and Ren Angles; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, son, Jeff Bonnell; and one sister, Orena Bonnell-Leidch.

Funeral service was held Monday at Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Brookport with Bro. David LeNeave officiating. Burial followed at POCO Cemetery.

Aly Funeral Home in Golconda was in charge of arrangements.
