Phase 1 of the “Peoria Project” is now in the books and it’s on to Phase 2.

With an unblemished mark of 28-0-1 at the end of regular season play, the Massac County Lady Patriots now start the nerve wracking part.

With wins over Pope County, Marion and Johnston City the ladies ended regular season play unbeaten and on a 25-game winning streak.

Barely a week into the season and in some miserable conditions in the Lone Oak Invitational, the Lady Patriots served notice that they were onto something this year. Trailing 5-2 in their last at bat, the girls rallied for a 5-5 tie against west Kentucky powerhouse Reidland and the rest, as they say, is history.
