Mr. McClendon had been employed as a factory worker in Shasta Lake, Calif. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one brother, Lewell McClendon Jr. and wife Sue of Shasta Lake; and one aunt, Betty Jo Dover of Karnak.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewell McClendon Sr. and Patsy Dungey Puperi.
Mr. McClendon’s body was cremated. A memorial service will be held later in Shasta Lake.
Wilson Funeral home in Karnak was in charge of arrangements.
