Virgie M. Hausman, 89, of Metropolis, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Hausman was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross of Metropolis.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Frazine and husband Ray and Barbara Phelps, all of Metropolis; two grandchildren, Ryan Frazine and wife Carla and Doug Hawes and wife Becky, all of Metropolis; six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Katie and Madi Frazine and Izzy, Luther and Wilson Hawes, all of Metropolis; two stepgrandchildren, Wesley Phelps and wife Jenn of Lexington, Ky. and Kelsey Phelps of Central City, Ky.; two sisters, Florence Korte of Metropolis and Ruby Bakke of Pocono Summit, Pa.; two brothers, Lester Meinders and Wayne Meinders, both of Metropolis; and several nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lena Verbarg Meinders; her husband, Charles Hausman; and one daughter, Wilma Lee Hausman.

Funeral service was held Monday at Lutheran Church of the Cross with Rev. David Deem officiating. Music was provided by Sheri Hunerkoch.

Burial followed at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rob Korte, Chuck Korte, Phil Hunerkoch, Michael Hausman, Richard Wedeking and Raymond Wedeking.
