Virginia Sue Weaver, 69, of Metropolis, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Tom Emmerson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Church Cemetery in Metropolis.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy VanEchten and husband Frank of Riverside, Calif. and Debbie Harner and husband Patrick of Vienna; three sons, Mike Jacobs and wife Kelly, Kevin Cremeens and Jamie Weaver and wife Julie, all of Metropolis; 11 grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, Matthew Jacobs, Kayela Miller, Tori Hettinger, Brandon VanEchten, Dylan Cremeens, Tyler Harner, Wyatte Weaver, Drew Jacobs, Addyson Weaver and Carson Cremeens; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Miller, Vivian Miller and Bryce Hettinger; and her siblings, James Harris, Bruce Harris, Patricia Lott, Carol Harris and Ellis Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ellis and Bertha Harris; her husband, James Weaver; and one brother, George Harris.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home.
