Wallace L. “Wally” Goins, 81, of Karnak, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

Born in Anna on Sept. 26, 1931, Mr. Goins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served from 1951 to 1955. He was a pipefitter on the repair ship, US Briareus, stationed at Norfolk, Va.

He was a member of the Karnak United Methodist Church.

Mr. Goins was a farmer, a barber for over 53 years and a taxidermist.

Survivors include his wife, Jean; one son, Chad Wallace Goins and wife Celesta of Metropolis; two daughters, Kimberly Beck and husband Rod of Post Falls, Idaho and Andra Kerley and husband Mike of Metropolis; two granddaughters, Amy Beck of Colorado and Cassidy Kerley of Metropolis; five grandsons, Andrew Blake Goins, Curtis Kerley, Aaron Gillis, Joshua Allbritten and Evan Allbritten, all of Metropolis; two great-granddaughters, Raylon and Melody Beck of Texas; one great-grandson, Ty Beck of Texas; one brother, Dr. Manul Goins and wife Shirley of Goreville; two sisters, Kathryn Sickling and husband Loren of Dongola and Letha Sickling and husband Oral of Calvert City, Ky.; two nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Susie Thrasher Goins and Andy Goins.

Funeral service was held Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Rev. Mark Sickling and Rev. Matthew Sickling officiating. Music was provided by Julie Bailey. Burial followed at Anderson Cemetery at Boaz.
