But Friday night with five and a half minutes left in the game, Hosman pulled his starters, not out of frustration in a game against the Harrisburg Bulldogs, but out of appreciation.
“They were tired and they deserved a rest,” Hosman explained. “We weren’t supposed to beat these guys, heck they’ve been blowing out everybody, and for a half we were within striking distance. They made it a four minute ball game…the first four minutes of the second half.”
And for those 240 odd seconds, Harrisburg showed why they are regarded as the best team in southern Illinois.
