A native of Massac County, Brian was an amazing father, who loved playing with his children and riding motorcycles.
He had a passion for farming and loved working for Ingram Barge. Brian was Chief of the Sam Fleming.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Burkhead of Grand Chain; his children, Michelle and Mazzie Burkhead of Golconda and Eathan Burkhead and stepdaughter Gavin Smith of Grand Chain; his father, Billy Burkhead and wife Linda of Golconda; his mother, Darlene Harris of Vienna; two sisters, Sara Robson and husband Eric of Pleasant View, Tenn. and Leah Inman and husband Luckus of Metropolis; his grandmothers, Donna Burkhead of Metropolis and Cleta Snell of Grand Chain; three nieces, Hannah and Emman Inman of Metropolis and Kaitlyn Robson of Pleasant View; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marshall Burkhead; and his maternal grandfather, Arnold Snell.
Funeral service was held Friday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. John Housewright officiating. Burial followed at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery.
