Organizers felt attendance was down some from last year, due to the campground being closed following historic flooding earlier this spring at Fort Massac State Park.
On a brighter note, 281 shooters participated in the annual Superman Classic, competing for $15,000 in prize money.
“We had record attendance on the first day of the three-day Classic, which is great news for our tourism efforts,” said Angie Shelton, Metropolis Tourism director.
