Born May 4, 1917 in Grand Rivers, Ky., Mrs. Lowery graduated from Brookport schools and had worked at NWA in Metropolis. She was a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Brookport.
Survivors include one son, Louis Lowery and wife Kathryn of Pontiac; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Alonzo Edmonds of Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lowery; her parents, Lonnie and Willie Johnson Edmonds; one son: Russell Lowery, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral service was held Friday at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lawrence James officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery in Brookport.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac was in charge of arrangements.
