David E. White, 70, of Metropolis, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

Graveside service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis with Rev. Charles Tate officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted.

Mr. White served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of Labor Local 1340.

He attended Brookport Church of God.

Survivors include one brother, Charles E. White of Paducah; one nephew, James White Jr. of Metropolis; one niece, Pam White of Roseville, Calif.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ora Chapel White; three brothers, Robert, Jesse and James White; one niece, Terri White Stablewski; and two infant sisters.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
