Mr. Heflin was employed by H.T. Hackney for 18 years and was a 1974 graduate of Metropolis Community High School.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Faye Minton Heflin of Metropolis; two sisters, Marie Loverkamp of Metropolis and Beatrice Rice of Gary, Ind.; five nieces, Ann Windhorst, Kay Jones, Tracie Welch, Makane Russell and Rita Russell; one nephew, Todd Rice; and several great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis M. and Lila Mae Gray Heflin; one sister, Nina Sue Russell; and one nephew, James Russell.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. David Wright officiating. Burial followed at IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
