Patricia Ann “Patty-Babe” Schumacher, 82, of Rantoul, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lux Memorial Chapel, located at 1551 East Grove in Rantoul. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana.

Mrs. Schuacher was born on Sept. 15,1929 in Chicago. She owned the restaurant “Big Ten” on the University of Illinois campus for many years and then she and her husband owned and operated Schumacher Food Supply in Urbana.

She was a member of the Elks and the Moose Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Reid and husband John of Thomasboro and Janis Janssen and husband Ronnie of Golconda; seven grandchildren, Tracy Acuff and husband Damon of Metropolis, Niki Rice and husband Mart, Melissa Shoemaker, John Robert Peters Jr., Terry Janssen Jr., Troy Janssen and wife Sarah and Tony Janssen and wife Kelly; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Lillian Strub Cain; her husband of 30 years, Robert Schumacher; one brother, Tom Cain; and one daughter, Debbie Shoemaker.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 5-7 p.m. at the chapel.

Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
