J.W. “Jack” Giltner, 91, of Brookport, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Giltner was a member of Brookport Church of God and was a member Bay City Masonic Lodge 771 for over 50 years.

Survivors include two sons, Allen W. Giltner and wife Linda and Steve Giltner and wife Pat, all of Brookport; four grandchildren, Dewayne Giltner and wife Donna, Lorie Harmon and husband Robby and Johnna Lee and husband Russell, all of Brookport, and Julie Weaver and husband Jamie of Metropolis; eight great-grandchildren, Shannon and Bryan Carrigan, Nicole Giltner, Austin Harmon, Hayden Lee, John David Giltner and Jackson Lee, all of Brookport, and Addyson Weaver of Metropolis; one great-great-grandchild, Jadyn Carrigan; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Wyatte Weaver of Metropolis.

He was preceded in death by is parents, Allen and Alma Dye Giltner; his wife, Timea Giltner; and one sister, Phyllis Hayes.

A Masonic service was held Thursday evening, and funeral service was held Friday at Brookport Church of God with Rev. Charles Tate officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Sterling Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Neal James, Kenneth Ramer, Mike Powell, Jamie Weaver, Russell Lee and Bryan Carrigan.
