Mrs. Dassing was the daughter of Calvin “Jolly” and Reba Quertermous Volle and married Gary Dassing on Aug. 22, 1961. She was a hair stylist and co-owner of Ultra Style Beauty Salon. Mrs. Dassing enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and gardening, and she was a life-long, active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Metropolis.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Gary; two daughters, Kristal Romaine and husband Rick of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Shannon Patterson and husband Sean of Metropolis; one son, Wesley Dassing of Metropolis; four grandchildren, Chase and Cole Patterson, Taryn Romaine and Camille Dassing; and one brother, Harold Volle of Metropolis.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Kommer.
Funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Dr. Richard Hertenstein officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery
