Electric conversion project moving right along

As the Metropolis City Council continues to look for ways to fill a $1.7 million budget shortfall, they were informed of one way it is not going to happen.

Prior to giving his report at the council's Dec. 12 meeting, city attorney Rick Abell addressed suggestions that the city's electric conversion project be suspended until finances improve.

Abell noted that while suggestions are appreciated, this one is "not a feasible alternative."
