On the night's agenda, city attorney Rick Abell informed the council they'll be having to take a test thanks to a new law that went into effect Jan. 1.
Public Act 97-0504 — Open Meetings Act Training for Public Officials — amends the state's Open Meetings Act by requiring all elected officials of a public body or appointed officials of a public body that is governed by the Open Meetings Act to take the Attorney General's online training, completed the test at the end of the training and put on file with the City Clerk the certificate of completion.
