Born Nov. 1, 1961 in Rosiclare, Mr. Smock attended Pope County Community High School. He had worked as a construction superintendent on numerous projects throughout the country, including a number of hotel construction projects. He was employed for the past two and one-half years as a surveyor for Shawnee Survey and Consulting Co. in Vienna.
Mr. Smock was a member of the Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Paula D. Alvarez Smock; three stepsons, Paul, Brian and Sherman Boucher, all of Litchfield; five stepgranddaughters; one stepgrandson; five sisters, Wilma Ashford and Margie Hicks, both of Golconda, Ruth Billington of Canton, Brenda Huckleberry of Vienna and Maxine Wethington of Eddyville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ellen Hayden Smock; four brothers, Troy, Kenny, Danny and Loy Smock; and one sister, Juanita Twitchell.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Bro. Bud McDannel officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Twitchell Cemetery in Hardin County.
