Norvil L. Rudesill, 83, of Paducah, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at his home.

Born April 22, 1928 in Vance, Miss., Rev. Rudesill’s parents served as ordained ministers in the Church of God.

He served as pastor in different communities, including Brookport Church Of God from May 1968 until September 1970.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Iva Bernice Sloan Rudesill; three sons, Pastor Larry Rudesill and wife Berryetta and Gary Rudesill and wife Donna, all of Paducah, and Jerry Rudesill and wife Tamara of Benton, Ky.; two daughters, Brenda Yates and husband Kenneth and Cindy Adams and husband Dale, all of Paducah; one daughter-in-law, Shelia Rudesill of Paducah; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son Terry Rudesill; his parents, Rev. Frank James and Rev. Jimmie Tallbert Lacy Rudesill; three sisters; and one brother.

Funeral service was held Friday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bishop Kenneth Yates, Bishop Danny Overton and Bishop Brady Wynn officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
