Mr. Dalton was a member of Plainview Reformed Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1939-1945. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. He was a retired member of the New York City Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Rosemary Cash Dalton of Grand Chain; two daughters, Nancy Russo of Farmingdale and Diana Sadowsky of Allendale, N.J.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Sadowsky of Allendale; one sister, Charotte Burd of Olmsted; and two brothers, William “Sonny” Dalton of Chadds Ford, Pa. and David Dalton of Plainfield, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy Olive and William Bearl Dalton; and his first wife, Mildred Auerbach Dalton.
Funeral service was held Feb. 7 at Plainview Reformed Church. Burial followed at Long Island National Cemetery in East Farmingdale, N.Y.
