The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Massac County Courthouse. The public can observe the business portion of the meeting, and NRC staff will be available after that session to answer questions or provide further information about NRC oversight of the facility.
The NRC’s evaluation of Honeywell, called a Licensee Performance Review, covered a period beginning Jan. 1, 2011, and ending Dec. 31, 2011.
The review covered performance at the plant in the areas of safety operations, safeguards, radiological controls, facility support and special topics.
The review found that Honeywell continued to operate safely and securely and did not identify any areas in need of specific improvement.
The NRC will also conduct the next review over a 24-month period which will end on Dec. 31, 2013.
