Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Metropolis First United Methodist Church and the F.O.E. 145 of Pueblo, Colo.
Survivors include three children: Mike Sawyer and wife Marianne of Bennington, Vt., Tonya Sawyer of Metropolis and Todd Sawyer and wife Michelle of Davenport, Fla.; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; four stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren; and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 3000 Kelly Lane, Springfield, IL 62711
