Mrs. Bowman was a member of Brookport First Baptist Church and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Lucinda Edwards of Illinois and Betty Hammack of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Kevin, John and Nelson Edwards, Karen Alpers, Cheryl, Depner and Pamela Emrich, Bobby Bicknell and Sheila Castleberry; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Marie Barnes of Kentucky; and one brother, Herschel Knight of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cinderella Wilson Knight; her husband, John D. Bowman; one daughter, Beverly Bicknell; and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral service was held Saturday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. David Siere officiating.
Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Mrs. Bowman’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
