On Friday during a special called Metropolis City Council meeting, the district entered an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Metropolis. The council unanimously approved the agreement, 7-0; Alderman David Daugherty was absent.

Friday's special called council meeting was preceded by an Industrial Committee meeting during which MMPD chairman Richard Kruger and MMPD consultant Jim Lindsey discussed the agreement with committee and council members.
